Experience of Getting Closer to Your Problem
If we see around us, we can see many problems around us. There are many kinds of problems and they vary from place to place but some of the fundamental problems of this world are Pollution, Global warming and Deforestation etc. By looking at each problem, I came across the most important one which is “Water Pollution.” When I searched for this topic over internet, I found out more than 50% of people around the world are living on and drinking polluted water. First, let me tell about those who are getting affected by impure water and after that I will explain my problem statement, my experience of getting closer to this problem and working for it.
Discharge of domestic and industrial effluent wastes, leakage from water tanks, marine dumping, radioactive waste and atmospheric deposition are major causes of water pollution. It is not just affecting the human health but it also affects the marine creatures, plants and many other living creatures. Water pollutants are killing sea weeds, mollusks, marine birds, fishes, crustaceans and other sea organisms that serve as food for human. It starts a chain of diseases within species. Hence it is very important to take strict measurements to reduce water pollution so that our next generations will get pure water and live a healthy life. These circumstances arise a need to aware mankind how important is it to keep oceans, rivers, streams and ponds clean?
Problem Statement?
I want to make a small organization which will work on water pollution awareness and It will ensure to purify water in every town of Pakistan. This is the big picture of my project and it would take a lot of time to make such an organization. As the Amal project is concerned, I want to install a water purification plant in one of the slum area of Pakistan where people are living on impure water or they have to buy it from far areas.
Experience:
I am a fellow of Amal Fellowship program and this task was assigned to us to find out the problems in our society. It was really a great experience to work on such an amazing activity. It feels like you are contributing in the betterment of world by pointing out these fundamental problems in the society. I looked at all the problems existing in community and water pollution is the one which is source of almost every problem. Even when you look around, you will find out there is somehow a connection of water pollution and the existing problem in society. If we can overcome on this matter, most of the problems and diseases will vanish out from this world. Moreover it is not only the responsibility of government or an organization but also an individual person. Following is a presentation on how to purify water.
